  • 1. Social Net Worth Conférence Quattropole 5 décembre 2012 Yves Leblond twitter: small_talks
  • 2. A social network is a theoretical construct useful inthe social sciences to study relationships betweenindividuals, groups, organisations, or evenentire societies . The term is used to describe a socialstructure determined by such interactions. The tiesthrough which any given social unit connects representthe convergence of the various social contacts of thatunit. This theoretical approach is, necessarily, relational. An axiom of the social network approach tounderstanding social interaction is that socialphenomena should be primarily conceived andinvestigated through the properties of relationsbetween and within units, instead of the properties ofthese units themselves.
» Tocqueville
