Therefore, it is vitallyimportant to refrain from sin in order toachieve the benefits of reciting thewazaif mentioned in this booklet. 12
  5. 5. Protection from the Evil of All Creations (Recite thrice) It is reported from Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Khubaib that once on a dark rainy night, we went out in search of Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam), and we found him. Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam) said,“Say” I enquired, “What should I say?” He said, “Read…

Dua for Guidance and Protection from the Evil of One’s Nafs (Inner- Self) (Recite three times) 12
  18. 18. It has been narrated by Hazrat Imraan binHusain (radhiallaho anho) that Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) had taught hisfather this dua: ‫هم الهمنى رشدى واعذنى من شر نفسى‬h ‫ال‬ ‫ل‬ “Oh Allah, inspire me with guidance and protect me from the evil of myself.” (Tirmizi vol.2 pg.186) Dua for Deliverance from Shirk(Assigning Partner with Allah Ta’ala)It has been narrated by Hazrat Abu Bark(radhiallaho anho) that Rasulullah (sallellahoalaihe wasallam) said: “Ascribing partners toAllah in my Ummah is much more hidden that thepace of an ant crawling upon a blackstone.”(Kanzul Ummaal vol.2 pg.816)Shirk is a very hidden thing. It enters the heartvery silently and very few are saved from it. 12
  19. 19. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abu Bakr(radhiallaho anho) asked in a frightenedmanner, “How can one be saved from it?”Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam) said:“Should I not show you such a supplication (dua)that if yourecite it, you will be free from minor andmajor shirk.” Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiallahoanho) begged him to tell him. Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) instructed him tosay: ‫ى اعو ﹸبك ان ﹸشرك بك وانا اعلم‬i‫هم ا‬h ‫ال‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ذ‬ ‫ل ن‬ ‫واستغفرك لما لا اعلم‬ “O Allah, I seek protection in You from that I ascribe partners to You knowingly and I seek forgiveness from You for those things which I do not know.” (Kanzul Ummaal vol.2 pg.816)Commentary:By continuously reciting this Dua, there isguarantee of safety from shirk, and gladtidings of sincerity. 12
  20. 20. Sayyidul Istighfaar (Recite once)Hazrat Shaddad bin Aus (radhiallaho anho)reports that Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihewasallam) said: “Sayyidul Istighfaar (i.e. TheGreatest Istighfaar) is to beseech Allah Taala inthe following manner:‫ى ل اله ا#ا انت خلقتنى وانا عبدك‬i‫هم انت ر‬h ‫ال‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ب‬ ‫ل‬‫وانا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت اعو ﹸبك‬ ‫ذ‬‫من شر ما صنعت ابو ]لك بنعمتك على وابوء‬ ‫ء‬‫بذمنبى فا اغفرلى فانه لا يغفر ال #نوب ا#ا انت‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ذ‬ O Allah! You alone are my Rabb ( Lord). There is none worthy of worship besides You. You indeed have created me and I am only Your slave. I am steadfast upon Your covenant and promise to the extent I can. I seek refuge in You from the sins I have committed. I acknowledge Your favors upon me and I confess to my sins. Forgive me for verily none forgives sins except You.” 12
  21. 21. (Bukhari Shareef, vol. 2 pg.932-933)NOTE: In a narration of Bukhari Shareef andNasai Shareef, it is reported from HazratShaddad bin Aur (radhiallaho anho) thatRasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam) said:“The one who recites this dua in the morning andpasses away before the evening, he will pass awayas a Shaheed (martyr). Likewise, the one whorecites this in the evening and passes away beforethe morning, he too will pass away as a Shaheed.Commentary:Apparently, the secret in therebeing such a great virtue for this Istighfaar isthat every word is filled with the spirit ofservitude and slavery. 12
  22. 22. A Comprehensive Dua that Consists of all the Duas made by Rasulullah (Sallellaho Alaihe Wasallam) in hisTwenty-Three Years of Prophet Hood (Recite once)Hazrat Abu Umama (radhiallaho anho)reports that Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihewasallam) made numerous duas but some ofus could not remember any of these duas. You have made immumerable duas butwe do not remember any of them.” Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) replied: “Should Inot show you such a comprehensive dua whichincludes all these duas?
  23. 23. O Allah! I beg of You for all the good that Your Nabi Muhammad (sallellaho alaihe wasallam)asked of You and I seek refuge from all the evil thatYour Nabi Muhammad (sallellaho alaihe wasallam) sought refuge from. You alone are the one fromwhom help is sought. And it is upon You to answerour plea. There is no power to refrain from sins and to perform righteous deeds except from You.Dua for the Fulfillment of Debts and Removal of Grief and SorrowHazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (radhiallaho anho)reports that a person came to Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) and said: “I havebeen overcome by worries and debts(that I amconsumed by the worry of the payment of my hugedebts). Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam)replied: “Should I not show you such a dua which,if you read it, Allah Taala will remove yourworries and will fulfill your debts?” The personexclaimed: “Please do tell me.” Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) said: “Recite the 12
  24. 24. following every morning and evening: ‫ى اعو ﹸبك من الهم والحزن واعو ﹸبك‬i‫هم ا‬h ‫ال‬ ‫ذ‬ ‫ذ‬ ‫ل ن‬‫من العجز والكسل واعو ﹸبك من البخل والجبن‬ ‫ذ‬ ‫جال‬i ‫واعو ﹸبك من غلبة الدين وقهر ال‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ذ‬ O Allah! I seek refuge in You from grief andworries, and I seek refuge in You from being unable (to do what is required) and from laziness andcowardice, and I seek refuge in You from excessive debts and from being overpowered by people.”(Mishkaat pg.215) Dua for Continuous Wellbeing and Retaining Of the Favors of Allah TaalaHazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radhiallahoanhoma) reports that Rasulullah (sallellahoalaihe wasallam) prayed thus: 12
I seek refuge in You from favors being taken away, and I seek refuge in You from mysafety being snatched away, as well as from Yoursudden punishment and from every displeasure of Yours.”(Mishkaat pg.217) Salaatul Hajaat The Salaat to Be Performed When One Has a NeedWhen a need arises, perform a proper wudhuthen perform two rakats of salaah with fulldevotion and concentration. Hymn the praisesof Allah Ta’ala, recite darood upon Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) and then recite thefollowing dua at least once. However, it maybe recited as many times as one wish.‫لا اله ا#اا ] الحليم الكري سبحان ل رب العرش‬ ‫لل‬ 12
  26. 26. ‫العظيم والحمدل رب العلمين اسئ ﹸك موجبات‬ ‫ل‬ ‫رحمتك وعزائم مغفرتك والغنيمة من ﹸل بر‬ ‫ك‬‫ذنب%ا ا#ا غفرته ولا‬w‫والسلامة من ﹸل اثم لا تدع لى‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ك‬‫هى لك ر %ا ا#ا قضيتها‬y‫ا ا#ا فرجته ولا حاجة‬z ‫ه‬ ‫ض ل‬ ‫م ل‬ ‫يا ارحم ال |احمين‬ ‫ر‬There is none worthy of worship besides Allah, the Clement, the Bountiful. Glory be to Allah,Sustainer of the Magnificent Throne. Praise be toAllah, Sustainer of the worlds. Oh Allah, I ask ofYou all those actions which draw Your Mercy and which makes Your forgiveness necessary, I ask ofYou a fair share of every goodness and protection from all sins. Do not leave any of my sinsunforgiven and no need (of mine) with which Youare pleased, unfulfilled, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy.(Tirmizi vol.1,pg.108-109) 12
  27. 27. Dua for Steadfastness on DeenHazrat Shahr bin Jaushab (radhiallaho anho)says: “I asked Umme Salma (radhiallaho anha)‘What was the dua most often read by Rasulullah(sallellaho alaihe wasallam) in his house?’ Shereplied that Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihewasallam) used to read: ‫ت قلبى على دينك‬i‫يا مق }ب ال ﹸ ﹸوب ث‬ ‫ب‬ ‫ل قل‬O the Controller of hearts! Make my heart firm on Your Deen.(Tirmizi) Dua for Following the Truth and Abstaining From Falsehood‫باعه وارنا الباطل‬i‫ا وارزقنا ا‬y‫هم ارنا الحق حق‬h ‫ال‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ا وارزقنا اجتنابه‬y‫باطل‬O Allah! Enable me to see the Truth as Truth and give me the ability to follow it. And enable me tosee the falsehood as false and give me the ability to refrain from it. 12
  28. 28. (Tafseer ibne Katheer vol.1 pg.292 verse 213)It is clearly understood from the above that itis not sufficient to merely recognize the Truth. It is also necessary to practice upon it. If onerecognizes the Truth but does not practiceupon it, one will be a criminal. Likewise, it isnot sufficient to recognize what is evil. It isalso necessary to refrain from it. Sometimesone recognizes the evil. He understands that itis a sin, yet he does not refrain from it. He toois a criminal. It is the eloquence of the speechof Rasulullah (sallellaho alaihe wasallam), thatin such short words, such an eloquent andcomprehensive message is delivered. One who continuously recite this dua, willInshallah be able to distinguish between goodand evil, and he will receive the ability topractice on the good and refrain from the evil. 12
