A Canadian International Development Agency program endorsement. CURENT RESEARCH PROJECTS I have presently two projects related to spinal balance both in the coronal and sagittal planes. The first project is looking at sagittal & coronal balance and pelvic obliquity correlating to pressure mapping and soars in patients with myelomeningocele. Efficacy of different pelvic fixation on the end result of residual pelvic tilt and its effect of pressure mapping pre and post surgery. My second project is still in its planning phase, I am interested in looking at the so called spinal sagittal balance: trying to correlate center of gravity, Sagittal Vertical Axis, pelvic incidence, and myo-electric Para spinal muscular activity. We will be looking at normal patients, and trying to compare to scoliotic, kyphotic, hip pathology patients. On the non deformity topic, we are presently looking at spinal column shortening for management of metastatic spinal tumors as well as mono segmental spinal stabilization for fracture management and spinal Osteomyelitis. We are about to start a biomechanical study as well as retrospective study on different posterior instrumentation configurations. PUBLICATIONS c.v. JA Ouellet 4
