    2. The Present Progressive is used to emphasis an action that began in the past, and it is going on at the moment of speaking. AFIRMATIVE NEGATIVE QUESTION I I am learning I am not Am I learning English learning English English? He / She / It She is learning She is not Is she learning English learning English English? You / they / we You are learning You are not Are you learning English learning English English?
    3. Exceptions in Spelling  Exceptions in spelling when adding ing Example: final e is dropped (but: ee is not changed)come – coming (but: agree – agreeing) after a short, stressed vowel, the final consonant is doubled sit – sitting as final consonant after a vowel is doubled (in British English) travel – travelling final ie becomes y lie – lying
    4. Use of Present Progressive  Actions happening now, at the time of speaking Example: Sheila is doing her homework.  Actions happening around the time of speaking Example: Bob is working hard these days. Time expressions: now, right now, at the moment, at present, etc.
