  • 2. Born in Toronto in November He’s a man that men remember
  • 3. He took gold from Klondike fields With the help of big machines
  • 4.  
  • 5. Then he made a hockey team Dawson City Nuggets thought they’d win
  • 6. Challenged Ottawa’s Silver Seven But they scored way below eleven… 9-2, 23-2
  • 7. With the outbreak of the war He stepped forward and did more He equipped a gun machine company Of fifty men for the Canadian Army
  • 8. As a talented engineer He made the Russian trains roll And improved the food and ammunition flow
  • 9. Romania’s crown jewels were not safe So Joe took them to Moscow But the job was not fully done… Not until he brought them back.
  • 10. He was a little bit of spy; Negotiated at Versailles…
  • 11. He got a lot of medals too the Order of the Star of Romania The British Distinguished Service Order the Russian Order of St. Vladimir the French Croix de Guerre To only name a few.
  • 12. He died in London age 56 And a woman full of mystery Would come and lay flowers on his greave Could she have been Queen Marie?
