    1. The Beauty Contest You are not required to take any notes or solve any problems – just watch the presentation Press “ESC” to stop this show
    2. This example will demonstrate how we can overcome weaknesses associated with “ gut-feel ” decisions. Imagine you are at an Airport Lounge…. Watching the Television Monitor, and pictures from a beauty pageant are displayed…
    3. Distribute 100 points among these ladies to reflect their beauty… A B Difficult? Probably not!
    4. Now 4 pictures are displayed, and you are asked to distribute 100 points among these ladies to reflect their beauty…. A B D C A bit more difficult?
    5. Now….. distribute 100 points - among these! A G F E D C B Requires much more attention?
    6. A B Let us take another look at the pair we saw at the beginning …
    7. Would you agree …… . … . that as the number of contestants increased, it became much more difficult to make a reliable judgment? Would you say that a “ pair ” was easier to handle? In the next slide you will see the consistency of the XpertUS [pairwise] technique, over a period of time, when compared to other popular techniques.
    8. Note: The first two techniques display a high degree of inconsistency over time, as compared to XpertUS Effect of Time on Rankings Minor Errors over time Errors increase over time…
