Slide 1: What does the Bible say About Itself? Why the Bible is important/unique
Slide 2: What does the Bible say About Itself? Why should we take the Bible seriously? How is it different from any other book? Hmmmmmm…so many questions… We should not take it seriously unless it takes itself seriously.
Slide 3: Mr. Weber’s Life Verse Life Verse: I Timothy 4:16 – Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere [continue] in these things for as you do this you will insure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.

Slide 9: The Bible is Living and Timeless 2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness. Inspired = God-Breathed
Slide 10: The Bible is Living and Timeless Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of the soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Always Relevant: Timeless
Slide 11: The Bible Cannot be Proven Wrong 2 Samuel 22:31 - As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tested [true]; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. Tested = If you try to prove it wrong, it will end up proving you wrong; true.
Slide 12: What the Bible says happened in History Really Happened 1.If the Bible says that a king of Israel lived at the same time as a certain king of Assyria, then we can be confident that that is true 2.If the Bible says that the Hittites existed, then the Hittites existed.

Slide 14: The Bible is a Source of Healing and Protection Psalm 107:20 - He [God] sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Slide 15: The Bible Allows Us to Avoid Doing What Displeases God Psalm 119:11 - I have stored up Your word in my heart [memorized it], that I might not sin against You.
Slide 16: The Bible Says that its Messages Leads to Eternal Life. John 5:24 - Truly, truly, I [Jesus] say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Slide 20: God’s Word are Powerful – Used to Defeat His Enemies Revelation 19:15 – And from His (Jesus’s) mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God. The Almighty. Word of God is commonly referred to as a sword: Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17
Slide 21: The Bible is a Moral Compass (Shows you Right and Wrong) Psalm 119:9 - How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
Slide 22: God Keeps the Promises Found in His Word. Psalm 89:34 - I [God] will not violate My covenant [most serious kind of promise] or alter the word that went forth from my lips.
Slide 23: Be Kind and Respectful to those Who are Trying to Teach you the Bible… Galatians 6:6 - One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches.
Slide 24: People Teaching Other People the Bible Need to be Living Godly Lives. Hebrews 13:7 - Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Your spiritual leaders need to be setting a good example.
Slide 25: The Bible is the Source of Our Faith. Romans 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Slide 26: Our Shield of Faith Helps Us Avoid Believing Lies. Ephesians 6:16 - In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; There are MANY lies being told today about God and His people…
Slide 27: God’s Word is Important to God. Psalm 138:2 - I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your name and Your word.
