    2. Outline of the Issue Why is it an issue for me at this time? Meaningless to applaud coaches for producing star athletes but who are doing the wrong things Need to replace experience-based rule of thumb constraint by competition between coaches with best practices derived from the science of coaching that are available to all The science of coaching may be the new edge for athlete performance at regional and international sporting events

    5. What Have I Found Out So Far Leaders and management coaches, who scored well on their EQ competencies, tend to produce better performing individuals, which may suggest that the emotional competencies of the sport coach may produce similar impact on the performance of his athletes Quality of the coach-athlete relationship has a long term impact on the athlete’s sports performance Athlete's ability to manage his emotions at the time of the competition seems to have an impact his sports performance at that event.
    6. What Have I Found Out So Far It suggests that coaches may need to process high emotional quotient competencies to enact the needed emotions according to the demands of the situation. It is interesting to know the driving emotional competencies for each sporting situation that the coach should be aware of Its findings strongly suggest that ‘without first establishing respect, esteem and love, the coach and athlete working relationship is at a dead-end. These three key components, which are the defining elements of closeness, have strong emotional connotations, and I have a keen interest in establishing the emotional quotient competencies driving this construct in the coach-athlete relationship Addresses how emotions could be instrumented by the coach just before a competition to enhance the athlete’s performance Expounds on the impact of the emotional dynamics between the athlete and his coach on the tone of their relationship Vargas-Tonsing T.
