  2. 2. Stats at West <ul><li>We asked West Seneca West kids and of the 18 responded these are the results we got. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Stats <ul><li>61% of students say they SOMETIMES consume alcoholic beverages. While 22% say they never drink. </li></ul><ul><li>59% believe that drinking is WORTH IT at time. </li></ul><ul><li>67% believe that alcohol is NOT a drug. </li></ul><ul><li>It is split 50/50 about the dangers of drinking. </li></ul><ul><li>70% of people have NOT driven while intoxicated. </li></ul>

Stats cont… <ul><li>66% of people have driven in a car with someone who has been drinking. </li></ul><ul><li>61% people that events can be fun WITHOUT alcohol consumption. </li></ul><ul><li>89% say that there parents mildly drink. However 17% say that their parents keep whiskey under their pillow. </li></ul><ul><li>40% of people say that of their friends half of them drink. </li></ul><ul><li>72% say that they choose to drink for fun. </li></ul>

FACTS <ul><li>Alcohol affects the central nervous system which controls almost all body functions. </li></ul><ul><li>2-3 drinks can alter motor skills up to 14 hours after consuming them. </li></ul><ul><li>A high proportion of deaths from falls, fires and burns, and drowning is linked to drinking. </li></ul><ul><li>Alcohol is the number one date rape drug. </li></ul>

Facts cont… <ul><li>About 1/3 of suicides are related to alcohol consumption. </li></ul><ul><li>Birth control slows down the elimination of alcohol in the body. </li></ul><ul><li>Many children are put into foster care due to Alcohol abuse. </li></ul><ul><li>Excessive drinking can result in a decrease of testosterone in men. </li></ul>

National Stats <ul><li>These are some statistics that relate to our survey. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>10% of teens drive under the influence of alcohol. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>74.3% to high school students have had one or more alcoholic drink in their lives. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>28.5% have ridden in a car, driven by some that was intoxicated. </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. National Stats cont… <ul><ul><li>70% of teens binge drink. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>According to many sites alcohol is in fact a drug. </li></ul><ul><li>So based on the information that we found that are results were similar to the national leve. </li></ul>

Dangers of drinking <ul><li>Making bad judgments </li></ul><ul><li>Your seeing is impaired </li></ul><ul><li>Slowed reaction time-leads to many alcohol related car accidents </li></ul><ul><li>Alcohol poisoning-sickness or even death </li></ul><ul><li>You can become dependent on alcohol for the rest of your life. </li></ul>

Drinking in Twisted <ul><li>In Twisted Tyler attends a party with mass alcohol consumption. </li></ul><ul><li>While at the party Tyler witnesses a fight, which included a drunk teen. </li></ul><ul><li>Also at the party Bethany has drunken sexual intentions toward Tyler. </li></ul><ul><li>While leaving the party, Tyler sees Chip attempting to drive home drunk. </li></ul>

Twisted cont… <ul><li>When Driving Chip, Bethany, and Parker home Bethany unknowingly hooks up with parker. </li></ul><ul><li>Due to the alcohol consumption Bethany does not realize she had inappropriate photos taken of her. </li></ul><ul><li>Tyler’s Mother drinks to take her mind off her life. </li></ul>
