    1. Promoting Art + Technology for Fun and (non)Profit Presenter: Dr. Alison Colman Founder and Executive Director The Fuse Factory Electronic and Digital Arts Lab
    2. How did The Fuse Factory get started?
      • The idea came to me while working on dissertation
      • Exposed to organizations such as Eyebeam (NY), Glowlab (MA), The Crucible (CA), 911 Media Arts Center (WA), Pittsburgh Filmmakers (PA)
      • Columbus needs this!!!
    3. The Fuse Factory is born
      • Dec 2006: recruited a handful of friends to join the board of directors
      • Hammered out name, mission statement, Articles of Incorporation, and bylaws
      • Registered as a nonprofit organization with the State of Ohio in Feb. 2007
    4. The Fuse Factory Startup Phase
      • Moved to Columbus in 2007 and began recruiting more board members and volunteers (generally contacting people out of the clear blue)
      • Our very first event: Ignition!
      • Began planning in January 2008

    19. What’s next?
      • Expand adult workshop program
      • Develop and launch a children + youth workshop program
      • Partner with social service agencies + arts groups around Columbus
      • Ignition 2.0
      • Additional performance events
