  • Opened our doors in August 2010 – delighted we have the opportunity to reach out to Wyoming today. We need you as our partners. West Central opened our doors in August of this year. There are 10 other regions across the country.
  • Right now, we work with state and local DOT funded agencies and Washington DC Transportation agencies to increase the capacity of small businesses to do business with US DOT
  • Here is how we do that:
  • Who do we serve? SMALL BUSINESSES THAT HISTORICALLY HAVE NOT SHARED MANY FEDERAL DOLLARS. THESE INCLUDE:
  • How do we serve you?
  • WE PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN STUDENTS, FROM LOCAL UNIVERSITIES, COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND TRADE/VOCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO GET EXPERIENCE IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY. We need your partnership by being a provider for an intern. You have a lot you can teach a student about business. CERTAINLY NEED YOU PARTNERSHIP IN THIS. SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE THE PROGRAM TO STUDENTS AGENCIES, PRIVATE CORPORATIONS, WOMAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES TO PROVIDE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES OUR SUCCESSES SO FAR – IN JUST 2 MONTHS. WANT TO REACH 30 STUDENTS THIS YEAR – ACROSS THE REGION
  • WE WANT MORE BANKS IN THE REGION. RIGHT NOW 2 BANKS SERVE 6 STATES, BOTH BANKS ARE LOCATED IN COLORADO. You can assist us by letting me know that you are interested in this program in Wyoming and referring banks to me. OUR GOALS – 5 APPLICATIONS THIS YEAR 5 FINANCING/BANKING EVENTS – WORKSHOPS & NETWORKING
  • A program that we just received is the Bonding Education Program – We want to offer the program in other states next year. If you can commit to coming to Denver once a week for 10 weeks this summer, we will consider your application for the program. Hope to offer it regionally via the internet in the future.
  • Never fear – we do have some things we can offer you this year! There are opportunities with Federal Lands Highway in Wyoming. Webinars - most economical way to reach companies throughout the region with training - ESTIMATING< BOOKKEEPING etc. Sponsor one of our webinars – offer your training to small businesses at no charge. Bonding – need to educate owners to develop bondability. We are looking for new ways to solve old problems. To get rid of old barriers to doing business on a level playing field.
  • We can’t do this alone – we need partners like some of you in the room today. We want to serve our entire region. To do that, we need to know what your needs are so that we can be a bridge from you to Washington. Please contact us.       • Woman-Owned Business,
      • Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business,
      • that provide services that are procured by

      • Women & Girls Internship Program

      • Encourage women to select transportation as a career choice.
        • Be a provider for an intern – hourly wage or possibly a US DOT stipend
        • Refer students and colleges to us – SBTRC will match applicants with providers
        • Encourage colleges to offer academic credit
    • 7. Short Term Lending Program
      • Companies that currently have contract with DOT or DOT funded project
      • Lines of Credit, managed by DOT through cooperative agreements between DOT and Participating Lenders
      • $150 application fee
      • Paid to Lender through two-party check

      • Access to surety bonding agents
      • Work on creating your company as bondable or to expand your bond level
