This is a study for Mother's Day 2009 that I did at Arise Christian Church. This was a study that generated great discussion, sharing, and dialogue.

 3. Eve

The first mother.

Genesis 4: 1-2

People can be real quick to blame her for what happened in the garden.

BUT, let’s explore some possible, unspoken areas of her life.

She had to figure things out on her own.

 5. Eve

Her son, Cain, killed her other son, Abel. (the first homicide)

Genesis 4:8

She was the first mother to bury her son.

She then gave birth to Seth.

Genesis 4:25

Sarah

Married to Abraham.

God made a covenant with Abram.

Genesis 15

Sarah took matters into her own hands.

Genesis 16: 1-2

Abraham laughed at God.

Genesis 17: 15-19

Sarah started laughing too!

Genesis 18: 10-12

 8. Sarah

God wasn’t joking.

Genesis 18:13-15

God kept His promise.

Genesis 21: 1-7

 9. Sarah

Circumstances can lead us to doubt many times, but “is there anything too hard for the Lord?”
