  5. 5. How do we design without prototyping? Produce product requirements Design life cycle
  6. 6. What is the product design life cycle?
  7. 7. What problems are there? Engineering the design can take a long time. Slow feedback loop for each design iteration. Communication problems between design and engineering.
  8. 8. What is rapid prototyping? Implementing partial product functionality as fast as possible. Not worrying about any production issues. It's like magic - smoke and mirrors.
  9. 9. What is purpose of rapid prototyping? Exploring designs Validating designs Testing designs Communicating designs
  10. 10. How can we design with prototyping? Produce product requirements. Distinguish between two life cycles: Full product design life cycle. Rapid product design life cycle. The rapid life cycle is a step inside the full life cycle.
