  3. 3. Hieroglyphics <ul><li>Egyptian system of writing </li></ul><ul><li>Pictures carried the meaning </li></ul><ul><li>Complicated </li></ul>
  4. 4. Rosetta Stone <ul><li>How we learned how to read Hieroglyphics </li></ul><ul><li>Same message </li></ul><ul><li>3 languages </li></ul><ul><li>One is ancient Greek, which was understood </li></ul>
  5. 5. Scribe / Writer <ul><li>Writing was only done by a select few </li></ul><ul><li>It was an elite job </li></ul><ul><li>Egyptian scribes had to memorize 700 symbols </li></ul>
