  • 1. Keywords and SEO – Boost Your Online Traffic and RankingsGOOGLE loves content. The more unique content your website has, the better it can performwith Google and other search engines. There is, however, a way to further optimize your website’s exposure by using keywordsand seo (search engine optimization). Keywords play an extremely vital role in seo and youroverall traffic. SEO success can be achieved by adopting a smart content marketing strategy thatinvolves the addition of carefully placed keywords in your website’s content. “But, what keywords should I use?” you might ask. Here’s how you find out: 1. Do Keyword Research. Identify the top words that you and your target audience think relates or best represents your product or service, and your location. 2. Make a List of those Keywords. Categorize the keywords and geo-modify them. The latter helps a lot, especially if you’re attracting local business. 3. Run the Keywords through Google’s Ad Words Keywords Tool. This wonderful tool shows you the volume of searches and levels of competition for the keywords you’re searching. The keywords tool allows you to learn the most viable keywords for you to use in seconds. Although, finding the right words to target in your content becomes easy with theGoogle Keyword tool, you must refrain from targeting them all at once. Just stick to 3-5 corekeywords for starters. You would not want to be spreading yourself too thin early on. In time, you can include other keywords. What’s important at the beginning is theminimum 3-6 months of attention you focus on the chosen keywords. The more time you devote to developing a certain keyword, the more impact it will havein the search engines. In fact—for some of our clients— one month is enough time to achieve#1 ranking in organic search results. However, you must bear in mind that the competition level for each keyword that youuse affects how well you can get ranked for it. That’s why you must choose keywords withreasonable (not high, but not too low) competition. A good rule of thumb to follow in keyword placement per article is inserting thekeyword 2 or 3 times in the first paragraph, and a few more times in the body. And don’t forgetto include it in the title, too. • 2. Be sure also to also use photos. By Alt tagging a photo in your article with the keywordyou are targeting, you get to embed that keyword a couple more times in your entire post. Plus, photos stand a very good chance of getting clicked on by readers. Hyperlinks are also very useful. But take note: don’t cram together all of your keywordsinto one paragraph, and then linking all these to only one page on your website. That is onesurefire way of getting your post treated as spam by search engines. Make your hyper-linkingstrategy appear as natural as possible and help your readers find other pages of content in yoursite easier. And don’t go sprinkling links all over your content either. That would be another badmove. If you’re planning to use hyperlinks, observe this link to number of words ratio—1 link :120 words. The successful use of keywords in your content will greatly increase search ranking, traffic, and overall benefit to your website. Google and other search engine sites respond kindlyto smartly done content marketing. The more traffic sent to your site, the more customers youcan get. But to succeed in this endeavor, lots of work is required. And your first order of businessis keyword research. So, start identifying those keywords now. Good luck.
