Creating your Facebook Fan Page

STEP 1: INFORMATION
Complete your Info Tab (Site URL, Twitter, etc)
Upload a profile photo
Add an excerpt.
Add some content on your wall.

Setting up your Tab
Click “Edit Page” link below your company’s profile image.

Add Content to your Tab

Add the name of your box.
For the time being, we will make it Image only.

Make it the Landing Page
Click “Edit Page” and change the default Tab to Welcome

More Landing Pages
Every new user will see the welcome tab first. This is your chance to convert a visitor into your regular user. Put interesting content, so they click “LIKE” and become a fan.
You can create more interactive Fan Pages with HTML and other functionalities, but that requires additional knowledge..

STEP 5: ADD WIDGET
Add the Facebook widget (Like Box) to your sidebar

Add the Fan Box in WordPress
Click Get Code, and paste it in your sidebar.php file. Anywhere you like.

STEP 6: PROMOTE
Ask your facebook friends to LIKE your page.
Ask your twitter followers to LIKE your page.
Never go to other Facebook Fan Pages and LINK to your own fan page.

INTERACTION
Facebook page is for interaction.
Ask for feedback.
Run giveaways.
Answer questions.
Bring users to your site. [CONVERSION]

Ask a simple question like this and get good feedback. Almost Instant Feedback.

Create your own Facebook App for WordPress

We will be using the WordPressplugin called WPBook.

Download / Activate this plugin.
This plugin enable you to use Facebook as a feed reader where users can share the links and comment from facebook. All comments are stored in your blog’s server.
Example: http://apps.facebook.com/wpbeginner/

Step 1: Create an Application
http://www.facebook.com/developers/

Once you click on that, you will see a screen like below. Select a name and agree to TOS.

Step 2: Configuration
Add your Application Name,
Description, and
Favicon.
Save your Application ID, API, and Secret Key.

Post Authorize URL will be your site’s URL.
Ex: http://www.wpbeginner.com/

Canvas URL
Pick your Application page name.
Also select your Canvas Callback URL. (This will be your site URL).

WPBook Settings
Enter API Key
Secret Key
Canvas Page URL
And modify any setting that you feel like.

This is a good alternative for Network Blogs
Your users can now add your application in their profile page.
Any activity they do within your application will be posted on their feed.
