  • 3. www.worldweatheronline.com The Gulf Stream Shut Down At the end of the last Ice Age there was a large amount of ice melt water that caused the density of our oceans to change. The influx of freshwater into the salt water of our oceans meant that the North Atlantic was less dense and didn’t sink.
  • 4. www.worldweatheronline.com UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Predictions The IPCC reported that the circulation of warm and cold water in the Atlantic Ocean will weaken by 20% to 44% before the end of this century.
