    3. Why a Language Journal?
      • The Journal is the reflection of your learning process
      • It helps for multi-sensory learning

      • It stimulates notion-language association
      • It helps in obtaining additional experience in language use (independent learners)
By far, it is the best consultation resource you can have!
    4. General Considerations There are a few regulations you want to keep in mind when building up a Language Journal.
      • Stay in the target language : writing the translation does not help your life learning.
      • Use pictures : visuals help you associate meaning to words.
      • Colors , Colors , Colors : use 3 colors per page minimum
      • Keep it tidy : take care of your journal. It´s the physical representation of your learning.
      • Use dates : write the date on pages. It helps you to keep track of your learning.
      • Enjoy it: remember to enjoy the creation process. Attitude goes a long way.
    5. Vocabulary The combination of words and word types turn into significative meaning.
      • Use a picture or graphic for each word
      • Write the word in big letters
      • Use colors for impact
      • Include examples of usage
You can use one word per page, or dive the page by 2, or even by 4
    6. Expressions Piecing the language puzzle together
      • Expressions and phrases play a big part in developing your conversational skills.
      • In this section you take note of fixed phrases that are normally used in the language
      • Additionally, you want to highlight changeable words and link some possible options
Put a few expressions together, and you have the beginnings of a conversation
    7. Grammar This is the “study” part
      • Include copies from books you answered
      • Use graphic organizers to simplify rules
      • For every book explanation, write your own based on examples you put together
      • Use shapes and colores to make things more understandable
      • Add some simple drawings from time to time
    8. Reading Books hold the key to proper language
      • Add print outs or copies of favorite readings
      • Highlight words and expressions of your interest
      • Include them in their corresponding sections
      • Underline complete sentences for grammar examples
Learn language from articles and books
    9. Writing It is the section you will take the longest to develop. 1. Take your time with this section 3. Upgrade to phrases 2. Start by writing words many times 4. Write sentence after sentence to express simple ideas. 5. Get into paragraph writing to better organize your ideas. Good writing is the result of a lifetime of practice
    10. Journal What you think and how you feel is also part of learning
      • You can have one section dedicated to registering the learning process or,
      • You can record your thoughts and feelings at the end of every page in a special area you designate.
      • Be sure to write what is difficult and easy, feelings, how much you practiced or didn´t practice.
      More is better!
