What makes a popular post?• Hot topic – keeping an eye on topics of debate in my community• Answering a frequent question or confusion (look for trends in forums, comments on blogs)• Analysis and useful information (takes time and research)• Not just giving an opinion• Telling people really interesting new facts, pick a topic that intrigues or fascinates people• Encourages debate from smart people, not self promoters• Post link to comments on other blogs if you have info that helps others, helps to be known as a smart commenter first• Trial and error• Look at other bloggers’ posts that go viral and analyse them
