When Freud was just 18, he dissected 400 eels to learn more about their sexual organs. Eels are very slippery and slimy, and they can bite or electricity somebody.
Freud experienced helping as an assistant to help treat skin disease, and getting only five hours of sleep. Some skin diseases can be contagious and Freud could have caught it.
When having no money at all for a family, Freud even knew this, proposed to Martha. He had no money to pay for a wedding or a house to live in, this making Freud to move away.
Sigmund spoke to many great scientist , It was his first lecture about male Hysteria. At the end of his speech many of the great scientist boasted about how long they had studied that subject, and of their theories, they also declared Freud’s Theories an accident. Freud just walked away from them and kept studying hard.
He experimented surgery on many patients during his time as a doctor. He was a very well known surgeon. Surgery was very difficult back in the 1800, because candles where the only light in the room and their were not many tools fit for surgery, many attempts, could lead to death for the patient.
Because of the cigars that Sigmund smoked, he had cancer in his late 70. He survive a lot longer than many people who had cancer, and he still smoked, making him more likely to die any day. He took the risk and carried along with his work for many months, but finally death found him and he passed.
Sigmund about himself in many ways, When his mother died, Freud kept thinking about the good sides. “ She won’t have to be at my funeral, and weep about, the whole service saying , Oh, My golden Sigi!” When he got separated from Martha, due to his work, he kept himself busy by writing letters to her. He was either writing to her or busy at work so that someday he could go back to Vennia and marry her. When Freud’s number one fan, and worker, Jung, ditched Sigmund in the U.S.A over astronomy, Sigmund stayed at his work and other fans, rather than waist his time trying to get Jung back.
Freud was a very intelligent man, he studied male hysteria when he was only age 24. He got his medical degree at age 18 and became a very well know surgeon. Sigmund founded psychoanalysis. He predicted over 150 theories and over 1/5 of them came true. He believed he could become famous and he did over speech/ lectures, and the three jobs he lived with.
Freud never gave up he was determined to do his best. When he was giving his first lecture on male hysteria, other scientist laughed, and bragged but Freud never stopped studying because he was determined to become greater than them. He kept on working because he knew he could do better. He never gave up on anything until it was done. He was determined to marry Martha, nothing got in his way and he worked harder to make money and marry Martha. Just like all of his jobs, he never gave up and in the end he finished his work.
Room Design or Special Place
I would design Sigmund Freud’s room with a five case bookshelf, the top two shelves filled with many ancient artifacts , mostly Greek and Egyptian because Freud always wanted to study the artifacts from those two places, but never bothered to because of the work he was already fixed in. Also he loved to collect sculptures and idols. The last bottom three shelves would be filled with books about Hysteria, medicines, eels, Leonardo Di Vinci, Albert Einstein, lectures, skin diseases, and world maps. He would have a red velvet couch with a very comfy pillow made with the fanciest designs, because he was a psychoanalyst he also had a small table in the back. He would have a rug engraved with an Egyptian pharaoh, he was very interested in the Egyptian civilization and use some of the old techniques for his studies when he was in his 30. The last item in his room would be a memory desk, a desk with a box filled with the letters he wrote to Martha when he move away from Vennia. It also has some of his most important documents from when he was beginning in his job as a psychoanalyst. It has a family picture holding all the dearest people in his life and five boxes of cigarettes. A candle from when he had to use when he was a doctor and only dim light would brighten the office. And finally the urn of his beloved chow Jofi in the back center of the desk.
