    • Placer gold production in 2010 totals 51,280 crude ounces, worth CDN$51.2 million
    • 2010 had a significant increase in number of placer operations over 2009, fueled by ever rising gold prices and stable fuel prices
    • Placer claim staking activity has not kept pace with the rising gold price, likely due to lack of access and easily prospected ground
    • There has been a moderate rise over last year as miners slowly take advantage of improved infrastructure related to hard rock activity
    • 2011 promises to be a good season as properties step-up production and new placer mining properties come online
