        • How to Save Time and Effort in Leading Others
        • If I want to use the most efficient interaction in leadership, I need to listen for whether the situation calls for a directive approach, a collaborative approach, or a facilitative approach.
            • Listen for signals
              • “ I don’t know what to do.”
              • “ Could you help me?”
              • “ What do you think about me doing…”

      • A new tool to save you time and effort in leading others
            • Beware of “What do you think?” Why? “What do you think”? is historically a tricky question.
            • Sometimes people are seeking approval for what they just said.
            • Sometimes people want to assess if you are truly “the expert.”
            • Sometimes people are stalling.
            • Sometimes people are deferring to you simply because you are above them in the social hierarchy.
            • If you don’t know the motive behind “What do you think?” – get more information!!! Perhaps you could respond with:
            • “ I’m more interested to know what you’re thinking right now.
            • Tell me more.”
    26. Closure
      • Evaluations on today’s session.
      • Other announcements.
      • THANK YOU!!!
