City of Jericho Jericho is considered the oldest known inhabited city in the world. Jericho was strong and powerful, with walls all around it. With its walls, Jericho was humanly impenetrable, unconquerable, Mission impossible! But for Joshua and the Israelites Jericho must be destroyed. Why?
GOD’S PROVISION PROMISE PLAN JERICHO WALLS Canaan “ Land that flowed with milk and honey.” Israel could not retreat. They had no alternative except to go forward in victory or suffer death; dying at the hands of the foes or of hunger and thirst. No other way to Canaan, the Promised Land.
JERICHO will Fall! By Faith Hebrews 11:30; Joshua 6: 1-20
What did it mean then? What does it mean now? What does it mean to me personally? Between the people of God and God’s promise was an obstacle that had to be removed. Today there are still people of God and there are still obstacles to be removed. In my life and in your lives there are some great walls or obstacles between us and the plan of God for our lives.
www.byfaith.tv The Worship of Faith (Joshua 5: 13-15) The Captain of the Lord’s army replied to Joshua’s query, “Are you for us or against us?” “ Neither, I come to take over.” Take it by heart the reply of Joshua: He worship God. True faith will worship God even though there is a wall standing between you and God’s purpose for your life. True faith worships because it understands that no problem is too big or too difficult for God to take care of. Faith is not blind to the problem, it sees the problem and God’s presence.
Jericho Strategy (God’s War Plan)

For six days the army would circle the city while the priests blew their ram’s horns.

The priests with trumpets went first, then the priests which carried the Ark of the Covenant, then the Army.

The only sound would be the sound of the horns, no one could a speak.

On the seventh day, they would circle the city seven times in the same manner.

Then when Joshua gave the signal, they would shout with great shout.

Principle #1 God’s strategy for battle is often strange, defying all conventional wisdom. I Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are might. 2 Corinthians 4:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. In the war of our souls, where God and Satan battled for our destiny, He did not sent millions of angels to march against the demons of darkness but . . . He sent His Son to a cross marching a Jerusalem highway. Jesus died and bought victory for us with love.
Principle #2 True worship of God involved continued obedience. A thread of obedience runs through this entire story:

When Joshua met the angelic messenger, he obeyed.

When the priests were given strange orders, they obeyed.

When the army was told to follow the priests, they obeyed.

They obeyed every command of God
Joshua 6:10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, ye shall not shout, nor any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid shout, then shall ye shout. The people obeyed! Here is a confidence in the divine presence manifested by unquestioning obedience to a divine command. “ Theirs not to make reply. Theirs not to reason why.”
The Word of Faith (Joshua 6: 15-16)

God already said to Joshua, “I have given you the city.” Faith is just agreeing with the word of God.

There must be times of exuberant faith. There was no wavering or hesitation in that shout.

There are no walls of sin strong enough to resist faith’s shout, when God says our shouting time has come.

www.byfaith.tv
Walls of Jericho Fell! The walls only fell after the people shouted.
www.byfaith.tv The Wonder of Faith (Joshua 6:20) God works wonders when His people believe in Him. The God that we serve is a God of wonders and miracles. There is no wall too high or too wide that withstand the wonder-working power of God’s hands. The walls fell not because of Joshua, or the trumpets, or the loud shout of the people. The walls fell as a result of the people’s faith. By Faith the walls of Jericho fell down. Hebrews 11:30 All of us at times face walls of impossibility. But the same God that brought down the walls of Jericho can bring down any wall that you and I face if we will just believe. "According to your faith be it unto you." Matthew 9:29
God is not moved by the walls you face, but He is moved by the faith that you put in Him when you face those walls. It’s our faith that touches God’s heart. All through life we will face obstacles of some kind standing in our way of progress. These obstacles often stand between us and God’s best for our lives. We cannot ignore it. We must confront it. We must conquer it to possess the promise. Walking God’s way. The only way to conquer the Jericho's in our lives is God’s way and that is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in God’s word, in the blood of cavalry’s cross, the finished work of Jesus.
