  • 5. He has the agenda
    • God has an agenda in this world – His Kingdom.
    • God is the Source, Originator, and Author of the mission.
He operates by His Holy Spirit
    • The Holy Spirit brings the mind and heart of God to your life.
    • “ mind and heart of God” is the vision/mission/agenda for your life, and for your Church. “Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint.” Proverbs 29:18
    He operates through His people.
    • “ For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
    • “ I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his house, and he will minister before my anointed one always.” 1 Samuel 2:35
    • “ And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah. 3:15)
  • 6. Amalekites = rejection of God Amalek had a vested interest in attacking the Jewish people, whose very existence proved the existence of God to the world spiritual warfare; distraction; keep you out of focus Sickness and Diseases Juvenile Delinquencies Doubts and Unbelief Broken marriages Unemployment Envy Shattered Dreams Financial Struggles False Hopes False Prophets, False Doctrines Deceptions Anything , anyone that stands as gap to Jesus Christ!
  • 7. Moses = Spiritual Leadership
    • Spiritual leadership is moving people into God’s agenda.
    • God never asks for volunteers when it comes to spiritual leadership. He has to choose you, call you because He sees your heart.
    • The spiritual leader needs to know what’s on God’s agenda through His Spirit.
    • A spiritual leader’s vision has to do with the quality of his relationship to God, because his vision is not what he wants to do for God, it is God revealing to him what He is about to do.
    • God is not looking for leaders. God is looking for servants who will let Him be the leader.
  • 8. Spiritual Leadership is a calling from Christ. It is not for the weak-hearted or the lazy. It requires great burdens for prayer, and many sacrifices to be made in order to adequately care for the sheep in your charge. As a spiritual leader you are accountable to God as a good steward of the lives given to your care by the Lord Jesus Christ.
    • A spiritual leader has let God develop his character to match any assignment that God may have for him.
    • Spiritual Leader’s goals:
    • 1. Lead people to God’s agenda (spiritual maturity)
    • 2. Develop and multiple leaders
    • 3. Glorify God by the way you lead
  • 9. Aaron and Hur helper, staff, deacon, prayer partner, intercessors, prayer warriors, council members
    • Prayer - vital to the sustaining energy of the leader
    • Emphasis on Prayer Support in Every Life’s Battle
When Moses held up his hands to the Lord, he revealed his dependence on God and his faith in Him. Israel learned on life’s battlefield that strength and victory was found only in a CONTINUOUS drawing to God and faith in Him. Many people go to war without prayer support. This is probably why there are so many casualties in the Christian faith.
    • Weakening of Intercessory Prayer will Lead to Defeat.
Exodus 17:11 And so it was when Moses held up his hands, that Israel prevailed and when he let down his hands, Amalek prevailed.
    • One strong partner is not enough, better a Team.
Everyone is called to be an intercessor. A TEAM of intercessors is needed. T – Together E – Everyone A – Achieves M - More
  • 10. Imagine if we have “ Aaron and Hur” in our Church supporting and strengthening the Pastor and leaders. Be the “ Aaron andHur.” Partners in Prayer The Preacher: Charles Finney The Year: 1830 The Place: Rochester, New York The Result: In one year, 1,000 of the city’s 10,000 inhabitants came to Christ. The Partner: Mr. Clary. “He never appeared in public but he continued as long as I did and did not leave until after I had left. The Preacher: Mordecai Ham The Year: 1934 The Place: Charlotte, North Carolina The Result: Many people were deeply moved, including a Farmer’s son who became the great evangelist Billy Graham. The Partners: Several businessmen who spent a day praying that God would touch their city, their state, and the world. The Preacher: Billy Graham The Year: 1949 The Place: Los Angeles, California The Result: An extended campaign that resulted in a change of approach in reaching people for Christ – leading to a new era of mass evangelism. The Partners: Graham had conducted many similar events with much smaller results. He later realized that the only difference between the LA crusade and all the others before it had been the amount of prayer he and his people had given it.
  • 11. Jesus challenges the church with a clear directive for shaking and changing the world when He gave the Great Commission: Matthew 28: 19-20 But even before He did that, He prayed a special prayer for all believers, which includes us today who make up His church. In the hours before His crucifixion, He prayed: John 17: 9-24.
  • 12. Are you the Moses ? Are you the Aaron & Hur? In life’s battleground: Victors or Casualties of War The scars of war will determine whether you are in the battlefront or in the luxury of the barrack. But it is in the battlefront of life you will experience the intimacy of God, life-changing encounters with Him, daily In Prayer!
