  9. 9. Examination Paper <ul><li>Important Instructions :   </li></ul><ul><li>The duration of the paper is 2 (two) hours. </li></ul><ul><li>The medium of instruction and questions is English. </li></ul><ul><li>The paper has 50 questions and 10 pages. </li></ul>

Examination Paper… <ul><li>All questions are of the MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type. </li></ul><ul><li>All questions should be answered. </li></ul><ul><li>Each question will have 5 (five) choices with one or more correct answers. </li></ul><ul><li>All questions will carry equal marks. </li></ul>

Examination Paper… <ul><li>The questions will be arranged, as far as possible, in an increasing order of difficulty. </li></ul><ul><li>There will be a penalty for incorrect responses to discourage guessing. </li></ul><ul><li>The mark given for a question will vary from –1 (All the incorrect choices are marked & no correct choices are marked) to +1 (All the correct choices are marked & no incorrect choices are marked). </li></ul>

Examination Paper… <ul><li>A question has 2 correct options and a student mark only 1 of them. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>1/2 of the correct options identified </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>(1/2 marks) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In the same question there will 3 incorrect options and if the student has also mark one of them. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>1/3 of the incorrect options (-1/3 marks) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Total Mark (0.50-0.33=0.17) </li></ul></ul>
