NWMC- A Christian Mission Conference With An Emphasis On Youth 12-24

People from all over the U.S. and the world attend.

Over 100 years ago Presbyterian ministers began the New Wilmington Mission Conference to give opportunities for high school students to learn about mission.

Today, 2,000 people of all ages attend.

It is held on the campus of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA *

NWMC is about… Turning young people on to what mission is really all about, in their schools, downtown, or across an ocean. Helping the church move out into the world. Jesus Christ making a difference in the world.

Enjoy the whole college campus for a week.

Counselors and small groups are provided for delegates ages 12 to 24.

Young people are encouraged to take on leadership roles.

And to become passionate about mission.

People of all ages are invited to NWMC and it adds to the special opportunity created there.

Everyone gets involved.

But… the speakers and the special events are chosen for Junior and Senior High and Young Adults.

We come together twice a day…

to worship and hear great speakers. *

We sing .

We pray.

We study.

Some activities are age specific *

Childcare is provided so parents can participate.

There’s time to visit the mission fair *

There’s time to visit the mission fair *

Opportunities to learn about other cultures *

Time to discover ways we can be a part of God’s Plan *

Each year a group of 6-8 young adults is chosen for a cross-cultural service opportunity*

The 2008 Summer Service Team spent 6 weeks in Malawi

They worked in an orphanage,

helped at AIDS feeding centers and participated in the first Malawi youth mission conference.

They returned in time to share their stories at NWMC *

Missionaries come to help us learn what God is doing in the world today *

And we participate in service projects…

Delegates of all ages assembled 572 shoeboxes for the Samaritan’s Purse ministry in 2008 .

Conference is also a time to make new friends or connect with old ones.

And, we enjoy lots of free time…

… for sports

… choir practice

… mission

For fun activities
