  3. 3. DEFINE SOCIAL MEDIA A conversation powered by technology between people. The conversation is not centralized or controlled. It is powered by the desire to share information and learn. It cannot be successful unless you listen before you respond.

(Listen, Engage, Accept, React, Nurture) Listen:Your brand, your name, your industry, your trade Engage: Be real and open Accept: Do not be offensive and accept your reality React: Respond properly using various means of communication Nurture: Follow up, do not lose track, cross-link info

  6. 6. @DIDITLEAK @diditleak is an account that posts updates to music albums that are leaked. They wont post a direct link, but you can then search for it.

  8. 8. MYSPACE MySpace is still the go to for musicians online. Easiest to steal from. Copyright all tracks before uploading them to MySpace.
  9. 9. RYAN LAIRD Bought a Billboard with his MySpace URL on it. Got thousands of hits. Got national news coverage. Got Taylor Swift’s attention.

  11. 11. DIANE BIRCH Diane Birch released an album with NO marketing budget. Her label joined forces with the “mom bloggers” to create buzz and reviews online. Her album was on the iTunes Top 10 list the week it was released.
  12. 12. LINKED IN Like an online resume. Used for professional networking. Answer industry related business questions.
  13. 13. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION - SEO SEO helps people searching find your site over another one. Robots crawl your text looking for the concentration of certain words, making it “better” than other sites.

  15. 15. GOOGLE ALERTS Set up alerts for your band, brand, or client name, you can also set up alerts for things you are interested in. If it’s mentioned in blogs or news Google Alerts will find it and update you.
