    @Susan: Not to speak for Whitney, but I believe that 'X' was regarding usertesting.com’s practice of recruiting users — you should *always* be involved in (and possibly in charge of) selecting the users for your tests, rather than offloading that responsibility to someone else.

    It’s important to remember when looking at slides (rather than sitting in an audience for the presentation) that the best presenters *say* most of the key content, rather than listing that information on their slides, and Whitney most definitely falls in that category.

    Interesting, but I don’t agree with the comments on unmoderated testing. Having a facilitator and doing a moderated test is great, but the new ways of doing unmoderated testing are quick and inexpensive, and believe me, you definitely 'feel the pain'. So I would take off the big red X you have on the usertesting.com site... i think that’s a viable option. (And i have 30 years experience doing moderated utesting).
