  2. 2. WHAT IS THE OORT CLOUDS The Oort cloud is a cloud of debris that is in our outer solar system. The cloud is mostly made up of small rock and dust particles. It is also made up of large rocks that are from debris in the cloud clumping together.
  3. 3. HOW WAS THE OORT CLOUDCREATED The Oort cloud was created by the left over debris from the period of time when the planets were being formed. The Oort cloud was created with the left over dust/rock particles that never quite made a planet.
  4. 4. FUN FACTS ABOUT THE OORTCLOUD Saturn and Jupiter hold the Oort cloud together. The Oort cloud gets most of its light from another star, not the sun. If the Oort cloud was clumped together it would be about the size of Jupiter and Saturn combined. The Oort cloud was discovered in 1950 by Jan Oort.
