Globalization is the
integration of different
world views, cultures,
values, ideas, beliefs,
and ways of life.
Globalization is important in education
because it teaches the students different ways
of life, different ways of thinking, and ideas
that they may have never heard before.
Globalization helps students learn new
concepts, cultures, and beliefs that will help
them to become diverse in these areas. It will
also help them to be more accepting of others
and more open to changes and ideas later in
How It Applies to 21st Century
Globalization can be used to education
• Teaching how to be “Global Citizens”
• Learning to respect and value diversity
• Being a part if an interdependent community
Creating a simulated United Nations where
each student represents a different country
in the United Nations
Becoming involved in community service
projects or campaigns
Researching different countries and their
contribution to Math and Science fields
Creating a simulated United Nations where each student
represents a different country in the United Nations
This can be accomplished by having each student be a different country and
have them debate about different topics
They would first need to learn about their individual countries
The topic given would be war between the United States and Russia.
They would need to discuss pros and cons of war
How much it would cost
How many troops would be sent… (etc)
Role of Technology
Globalization is dependent on communication
technology, and communication technology is in
turn dependent on globalization.
In education that means being able to be connected
with each other in an instant.
The sites from which we got the pictures do not correlate exactly with
globalization just the pictures illustrate the use of technology in globalization.
