Britains Big Problem - Presentation Transcript

    1. Britain’s BIG problem
    2. Some of the problems…
      • Government
      • Money
      • Crime
    3. Government…
      • Gordon brown is currently Britain’s prime minister. His party is the labour party. He used to be chancellor of the exchequer and has made his grasp for power.
An embarrassing headline for the labour party… TAX RATES DOUBLE IN SEVEN YEARS. The figures show the country’s tax has risen 94.5% in seven years Surely people would vote for other parties, not for labour when this is happening. The time labour has been in power. Tax rate doubles in seven years
    4. Government & Money The UK earns in taxes and exports over 1300 billion pounds. So where is it all going? Well, first we are in a national debt to America. In the second world war, America supplied Britain with vital supplies and war materials. We are the only country that paid for the war. Britain is still paying the debt to America Then, there is the NHS to pay for. Billions of pounds are spent on the NHS every year. Then, we input billions of pounds into councils. We also input billions into the EU.
    5. Government & Crime The country’s reported crime rate is lower by 9% in the last 12 months. Notice how it says REPORTED CRIME. This means that people are only reporting less crime which could mean that crime could be high but people aren’t reporting it. Knife crime is going through the roof with more and more deaths every year. Is it time we did a tougher crack down?
