In January, we redesigned our platform UI and a website redesign was inevitable. If you’ve ever moved before, you know that a lot of things get lost in the shuffle. The same thing happened to us, and our website popup lay dormant until May 2014. We woke up and realized we were missing an important way of touching our website visitors and gaining new subscribers.
This was rudimentary until we could design a better popup and figure out a way to add advanced targeting rules – which we soon did with Justuno. The only business rule we had set up around this basic popup was only to show it to people who had seen it less than three times per visit.
We’re big fans of testing the waters. Since we had no previous metrics to go off of, we didn’t have a solid goal. So we decided to run the popup for a month, evaluate, and set goals from there.
In the 12 months before implementing the popup, we’d received 2,058 subscribers via our website. In the one month we re-implemented a website popup, we received 1,300 new subscribers alone via the website.
On Sept. 28, we implemented a Justuno strategic popup and targeting rules on our website.
