  • RAUL Emphasize increased giving year to year. Emphasize even during the difficult economic climate of 2010 we were still able to raise $300K – with the most number of gifts in our campaign history.
  • RAUL Raul – is the overall volunteer leadership for our annual giving campaign. Raul is also our Chair for our Board of Managers. Nick & Dyan – Long time SVF Y supports, children participate in Y programming, Nick is on our board of managers, and this is their 8 th year volunteering for our annual giving campaign. Vince – This is his second year campaigning and he is also on our board of managers.
  • RAUL Staff (the referees) will be handing out the organization chart. Explain volunteers are grouped into divisions Each division has a specific sports theme – have fun with it! Wear/bring sports paraphernalia!

  • And that they are more likely to engage in criminal and other high risk behaviors than those who have the opportunity to benefit from constructive activities supervised by responsible adults
  • This summer the Y offered Summer Nutrition Camp…

  • Did you know?
  • That on average, students lose approximately 2.6 months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months
  • And that low-income children and youth experience greater summer learning losses than their higher-income peers
  • This summer the Y’s Summer Nutrition Camp focused on working on Math and Literacy skills

  • Monday-Friday for 8 weeks
  •  
  • 60 at-risk youth are more academically prepared to start the new school year

  • Did you know?
  • That only 1 in 5 of the 15.3 million children who receive free or reduced price lunch during the school year participate in federal nutrition programs during the summer
  • … Did you get that?
  • 1 in 5 low-income child has food security during the summer
  • This summer 3,000 meals were served at the Y

  • 6,000 Summer Snacks ( 2 per day)

  • 60 children did not have to worry about their next meal
