      • – Acts 2:17-18
    • What is a Dream?
      • A dream can be defined as the thoughts, or series of thoughts, or imaginary transactions, which occupy the mind during sleep. To have ideas or images in the mind while in the state of sleep. A vision while sleep.
    • Why Are Dreams Important?
      • He reveals your calling: Numbers 12:6
      • Only way to get message to us at times: Job 33:14-16
      • He leads us through dreams: Matt. 1:20
      • Warnings of impending danger: Matt 2:12
      • He tells us of our future in dreams: Gen. 37:5-7
      • He reveals His plan for others: Gen. 40:12

      • Write it down tell the main facts !-Daniel 7:1
      • Remember it!-Gen. 37:11
      • PRAY! Revealed things are for you!-Deut. 29:29
      • Be selective who you share it with-Gen. 37:11
      • Seek the interpretation-Gen. 40:8
    • Dream Interpretations
      • And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them, “ Do not interpretations belong to God?” -Genesis 40:8
    • Steps To Interpreting Dreams
      • Go to the Word of God: Psalm 36:9
      • PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
      • If you still don’t have the answer, go back and do #1 and #2 all over again
      • If you still cannot seem to receive the answer it is okay to seek out the wisdom of a prophet or one who has the gift to interpret dreams
    • What is a Vision?
      • A vision could be defined as that which is seen; an object of sight; especially, that which is seen otherwise than by the ordinary sight, or the rational eye; a supernatural, prophetic, or imaginary sight.
    • Differences & Similarities Between Dreams and Visions
      • Dreams
      • Given while sleeping
      • Highly symbolic mostly
      • Normally ALWAYS need an interpretation
      • Needs to be written down, understanding sometimes comes WAY later
      • Visions
      • Can be given while sleeping or awake
      • Normally not symbolic at all
      • Interpretation normally not needed; sometimes you know the meaning instantly after seeing the vision

    • Prophetic Definitions
      • Chozeh -An ancient word for a prophet. This type of prophet is one who receives communications from God more from visions and dreams than audible words. Prophets who say they “saw” the word of the Lord more than heard it are examples of this type of prophet.
    • Prophetic Definitions
      • Ra’ah or Roeh -The ra’ah prophet is the seer. The seer focuses on the way in which the prophet receives God’s messages. It is said that this type of prophet also has a strong shepherding element attached to their mantle for ministry.
    • The Seer
      • (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he spoke thus: “Come, let us go to the seer”; for he who is now called a prophet was formerly called a seer .)-1 Samuel 9:9
    • The Seer cont.
      • A seer focuses on the way in which the prophet receives his messages from the Lord.
      • There are a couple of words in the OT that are translated prophet or seer. They come from words that basically mean to see, look at or behold. The prophet or seer is one who can see things that others cannot. This type/kind of prophet is one to whom God directly and uniquely reveals His word and His will usually through revelatory dreams and visions
