From the picture, we can infer that the soldiers of the Malay Regiment are mainly made up of volunteers. I know this as the caption under the picture said that “the Men of the Malay Regiment, recruited from local native volunteers were recruited from local native volunteers.” This tells me that the regiment is strong as the men that forms up the regiment were volunteers as they want to protect their own country. This explains why the Malay Regiment had a fierce battle against the Japanese at Bukit Chandu and refuses to give up till the very end.
Also, the picture shows the soldiers from Malay regiment practicing . This shows that the soldiers are keen to defend their own country .We can also see that the Soldiers of the Malay regiment are very united and have a strong team spirit. We know this as the picture show them practicing TOGETHER.
