1. SETTING THE SCENE:
The seeds of OK Listen were sown from the
need for independent artists to sell directly to
their fan base. OK Listen set out provide just
such a solution - a truly pro-musician, digital
platform that musicians could trust and a fans
could come to discover music and supporting
the artists they love.

THE SOLUTION:
“A complete custom built interactive online music store”. OK Listen’s bespoke admin system allows artists
to easily upload their music, whilst automatically cutting a high quality preview of the song by using
"FFmpeg" technology. This allows customers to listen to the preview before they purchase – then providing
the flexibility to download full albums as well as individual songs. The artists payment distribution is then
completely managed by the system automatically as part of a transaction through a robust, ecommerce
interface.

Two different payment options: for buying either an album and song from the portal.
CHALLENGE:
To build an interactive e-commerce music store, which could promote and sell high-quality music directly
to fans. The platform would need to provide extremely high performance audio-streaming functionality,
allowing users to previews song on different devices, listening to and purchasing music on the go.

THE RESULTS:
Ok Listen offers artists a quick on-boarding process,
processed music files complete with tags, artwork
and real time dashboard to access sales reports.
Musicians are provided with a unique URL which they
can promote to increase awareness of their music.
Through a direct integration with ‘The Orchard’, (the
world’s biggest aggregator & redistributor of digital
music) OK Listen has now helped many hundreds of
artists to sell directly to their fans - with many more
signing up each week!
