Ÿ  Skype were about to launch version 4 of their software for windows, moving from a small IM type application to a full screen experience Ÿ  We knew the people who would like this change least would be their most loyal customers, who were most used to the previous incarnation Ÿ  We devised a launch campaign to ensure we kept these customers on-board and drove positive word of mouth about the new product

  5. 5. embedded videos explaining changes
  6. 6. passed the baton to local Skype blogs
  7. 7. the conversation spread
  8. 8. the conversation spread through blogs and on Twitter
  9. 9. in the first 32 hours there were 259 posts tracked by Google and subsequently analysed by We Are Social J
  10. 10. and they were friendly
  11. 11. some of them, very friendly
  12. 12. bloggers used the videos in their own posts resulting in over 25,000 views in the first 48 hours
  13. 13. Skype 4.0 Beta blog post Skype blog home page resulting in over 15,000 page views and 11,000 visits in the first 48 hours people also joined the conversation on the Skype blog
