Design students are working in health‘ (14 projects, one year group, one college)

“So what is it you do pet?” “I’m a design student.” “Oh really? So what sort of things is it you design? Chairs?” “Em kind of.I design systems, services and experiences as well as products too.”

Students ‘ Need additional support not just in design Huge percentage want to work in health See it as valuable experience and a career in health Both during term time and in summerSome just want short interventions (it takes a long time to set up a focus group, or get user testing)

Health Organisations ‘ Who is at the heart of identifying the problem? Is it the organisation and existing project team, with their considerableexpertise in the area, or the designers, with their fresh approach and different perspective? - Harriet Hunter Programmes not projects Design with a capital D and not a small d Paying for skills? Responsibility

Educators ‘“It’s so inspiring to see the students naturally leaning towardssocially focused projects. They are doing it by themselves.
