Weekly News from WCUMC-2/10/2013Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world. "Confidence and Strength through thePower and Presence of The Holy Spirit" Basic Training for Followers of ChristBecause of God’s secret and mysterious plan that was revealed tohim, Paul prayed for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to theEphesiansThis is why I kneel before the Father. Every ethnic group in heaven oron earth is recognized by him. I ask that he will strengthen you in yourinner selves from the riches of his glory through the Spirit. I ask thatChrist will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strongroots in love, I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width andlength, height and depth, together with all believers. I ask that you’llknow the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will befilled entirely with the fullness of God. Glory to God, who is able to dofar beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work withinus; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21That same prayer can be made for Christians today: Paul prayed for the Strength of the Holy Spirit to enable us to experience the riches of the glory of Christ. Paul prayed for depth, that our love would be grounded in faith in our hearts.
Paul prayed for all to grasp Gods power and love and to make it their own (our own). Paul prayed that we would all be filled with the fullness of God..We can only experience FULLNESS in life by opening our hearts andminds completely to the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit!Next Week: “Unity of the Spirit”, Ephesians 4:1-16Pastor Rick Vinther preaching THIS WEEK AT WCUMCSunday - 2/10 Evening Prayer, 5:30 PM, Prayer RoomMonday - 2/11 "The WORD" Bible Study, 2:00 PM, Memorial Room.
