    Introduction to Wellness
  • 2. What is Wellness?
    A state of high-level health
    Every decision you make in a day will effect your wellness either positively or negatively
    Examples -
  • 3. 5 Dimensions of Wellness
    Physical
    Refers to how well your body functions
    Healthy- you are able to carry out everyday tasks without becoming tired & worn down
  • 4. Cont
    Mental
    State of being comfortable with yourself, others, & your surroundings
    Healthy – mind is alert, learn from mistakes, recognize achievements
  • 5. Cont
    Emotional
    How you react to events in your life
    Healthy – feelings you feel are appropriate responses to events in your life
  • 6. Cont
    Social
    How well you get along with others
    Healthy – loving relationships, respect the rights of others, being able to keep friends, give & accept help
  • 7. Cont
    Spiritual
    Status of your relationship with God
    Healthy – You make time for Him each & everyday, He is your best friend, He is #1 in your life
    The sad thing is that this one is probably our weakest dimensions for many people.
  • 8. 5 Dimension Wheel
    Think of the dimensions as a wheel. You need every spoke to be strong in order for the wheel to work well. You also need an extremely strong center piece to support the spokes & wheel. Each dimension needs eachother, effects eachother & most of all needs the center piece.
