Posting a video - cheaply!• Look for “embed” on the video’s page • Under “share” below the screen in YouTube • At “share” top right corner of screen in Vimeo • Select and Copy the entire field of code in the “embed” window• Write and polish the text of your post or page first.• At “Add New Post,” click “Text” in WordPress.com, “HTML” in WordPress.org• Put cursor where you want the video -- between paragraphs, and Paste the embed code.• Switch the tab to “Visual” and Save then Preview, View Post etc.
Here is the YouTube video chosen. When Share was clicked, then the Embed button clicked, thewindow with the Embed code appears. Select the entire code, all that is in the Embed window, andCopy it.
I’ll put the video screen above the last paragraph. Yours can go wherever you want, but it should bebetween paragraphs. Click the Text tab (HTML in WordPress.org); the embed code only goes there.
This is what the Text, or HTML, window now looks like.
The video’s embed code gets pasted where you want it, betweenparagraphs. Click the Visual tab.
When you click back to visual, you get a yellow box, not the embed code or the video. Youwon’t see that in the Edit Post/Edit Page window. Click Update to save.
The yellow box turned into a line of explanation. It’s not code but leave the bracketed materialtotally alone, it is a fragile as code. Relax, click View Post -- it’ll be great.
Now the video is posted, without buying extra space at theWordPress.com server
