Version 5
Document Management Software Vendor Releases New
Version of Content Central
TAMPA, FLA., USA – Ademero Inc. announced the release of Content Central™ version 5. The browser‐
based document management software has been upgraded with an enterprise workflow engine, a one‐
click document‐editing tool, and an enhanced approval‐process engine.
Advanced Workflow Engine
Workflow rules provide an efficient means to perform automated tasks in Content Central. An unlimited
number of rules can be defined by administrators to simplify routine business and organizational
transactions related to documents and information within Content Central. Workflow triggers, the
causal agents of workflow rules, operate on system events or schedules, such as documents arriving in
the system, users making changes to content, or deadlines expiring on an approval process. These
triggers initiate one or more workflow actions, such as e‐mailing documents to vendors or customers,
moving documents to folders, or notifying management of delinquent approval processes.
"We've been told our new workflow engine surpasses the capabilities of the competition," says Manuel
Montesino, marketing director for Ademero. "It's exciting to know our response to customer feedback
has translated into a successful aspect of our software, and we believe it will provide an increase in
productivity to our new and existing customers."
One‐Click Document Editing
Content Director, a new server‐deployed Windows application, facilitates the document and content
editing process. With a single mouse click, the check‐out process, file download, and native‐application
launch occur automatically in seconds. After a user completes changes, Content Director Handles the file
upload and check‐in process. Content Central stores any change to a document as a new revision for the
document record.
Enterprise‐Class Approval Processing
The existing approval‐process engine has been significantly improved with group‐membership,
deadlines, and notifications. One or more groups are now allowed as members on an approval process.
When a group exists as a member, a new approval requirement option determines whether a single
user, the majority of users, or all users in the group will cause a document to move forward to the next
member in the process.
Deadlines can be defined for each approval process, including each step of the process. After deadlines
are configured, administrators can choose to enable deadline messaging, which notifies members
and/or administrators of expired deadlines via e‐mail or internal messaging. In addition, the new
workflow engine allows administrators to garner complete control over documents as they move along
an approval process.
About Content Central™ Version 5
As a fully browser‐based document management system, Content Central extends the boundaries of the
traditional office. Tools for capturing, creating, accessing, and managing documents and other content
exist entirely within the browser‐based user interface. The server‐based software package works well as
an intranet, extranet, or stand‐alone application. User workstations need only a standard Web browser
to access Content Central in the office or remotely. This not only provides quick deployment, but also
allows secure access to the server from any location.
Content Central operates on the Microsoft Windows Server platform and utilizes Microsoft SQL Server
as its back‐end database engine. Client access to the Content Central server works well with both
Microsoft Internet Explorer® and Mozilla Firefox® Web browsers. A ready‐to‐use paper‐capture
application, Content Central provides an interface for in‐browser TWAIN scanning and includes a
barcode‐generation tool for batch processing. Electronic documents and other content can be captured
via drag‐and‐drop, e‐mail, network folder, or XML descriptor.
Non‐modular solutions and pricing are available for both the enterprise and small business.
