For over 160 years ago… 1853 Siemens launches its business in Ukraine related to the breakout of the Crimean War between Russia and Turkey: the company wins a contract for laying telegraph lines linking Finland, St. Petersburg and Moscow with Kyiv, Odesa and the Crimean peninsula. 1855 Engineering offices in K i and Odesa established to carry out a t el e ear contract for ser icing the telegraph lines of Kyiv carr o t twelveyear servicing the Siemens and Halske Electrical Engineering JSC. 1870 11,000kilometer IndoEuropean telegraph line from London to Calcutta laid through the South of Ukraine (Odesa, Kerch). 1892 E i i with an electric plant the fi i the country and the second i E Equipping i h l i l h first in h d h d in Europe tram li i K i line in Kyiv. 1894–1902 A number of projects in the field of equipping with electric plants the municipal transport and power stations in Lviv, Zhytomyr, Yekaterynoslav, Chernivtsi, Mykolayiv. 1897 Installation of electric alarm system at the stations of South Western railways. 1898 Opening of affiliates of jointstock company Siemens & Halske, consisting of Russian electric plant factories in Kharkiv, Yekaterynoslav and Odesa. 1900 Equipment for a telephone exchange in Odesa. 1909 Order for construction of a long distance telephone central line for 1 700 subscribers in Yekaterynoslav Yekaterynoslav. 1911 Installation of street lighting system in Odesa. 1912 Opening of the lighting department of Siemens & Halske in Kyiv. 1925 Installation of fire alarm and lighting system for the stage of the Opera Theater in Odesa. g g y g p 1927–1932 Participation in construction and equipment of the Dniprovska HPP near Zaporizhzhya.   • 14. 1927-1932 Participation in construction and equipment of the Dniprovska HPP near Z Zaporizhzhya. i h h The biggest for its time project for the equipping of Dniprovska hydropower station and joint industrial enterprise for the total p amount of 5,9 million USD.
