    8. Who is the Holy Spirit?
    9. Who is the Holy Spirit?
      • The Holy Spirit is God
      • The Holy Spirit is a Person with a mind, emotions, and a will
    10. A diagram of the Trinity According to the Bible, there is: One God Three Persons
    11.
    12. What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
    13. What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
      • “ Convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8)
      • “ Bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16)
      • Be our Helper (John 14:16)

    14. How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
    15. Three different levels
      • Inside
      • Fill
      • Overflow
    16. Holy Spirit comes into people who believe in Jesus, like water coming into a cup 1. Inside
    17. Indwelling of Spirit is for all believers 1. Inside
    18. Holy Spirit is given at salvation 1. Inside
    19. Salvation is “The spiritual, eternal deliverance which God immediately grants to those who accept His conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.” 1. Inside Source: http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-doctrine-salvation.html
    20. Salvation is available in Jesus alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12), and is dependant on God alone for provision, assurance, and security. 1. Inside Source: http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-doctrine-salvation.html
    21. Holy Spirit remains in you permanently 1. Inside
    22. 1. Inside
      • Some people ask, “What about people who stop believing in Jesus and end up going against Jesus?”
        • Answer is probably that they never had Holy Spirit in them to begin with because they never believed in Jesus to begin with
      • Only you and God know if you have Holy Spirit inside you to begin with (if you truly believe in Jesus to begin with)
    23. 2. Fill Holy Spirit fills up in people who obey God, like water filling up a cup
    24. 2. Fill Only our obedience to God's commands allows the Spirit freedom to work within us
    25. 2. Fill However…
    26. 2. Fill However…
    27. 2. Fill However… The Holy Spirit is God, and cannot be in the same place where sin is
    28. 2. Fill Sin separates us from the filling of the Holy Spirit
    29. 2. Fill
      • Only our obedience to God's commands allows the Spirit freedom to work within us
      • Sin separates us from the filling of the Holy Spirit
    30. 3. Overflow
    31. 3. Overflow
      • Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water”
    32. 3. Overflow
      • The Holy Spirit’s work flows out of us when we are filled, like water overflowing a cup already full of water
    33. 3. Overflow
      • Others around us receive the benefit of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives
    34. Conclude: We as believers should obey God to be filled such that we overflow with the Holy Spirit
