    • Learning how to set goals is as important as knowingwhat the goal should contain. What’s important toremember about setting goals is the correct F.R.A.M.E.of mind. What is meant by “frame of mind?” Eachletter in the word “frame” illustrates the following: Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 6
    • Fantasize - Dream your wildest dreams and make sure that your goals matchyour values. Ask yourself: what do you want to be doing in 1 year? 5 years? What kind of person do I want to be?Reality - Fantasies can become reality, depending on how hard you are willingto work for them.Aim - Define your goal(s) by striking a balance between Fantasy and Reality; seta high but realistic goal.Method – Be truthful to yourself by narrowing your choices or goals to the onesyou really intend to accomplish. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.Evaluation - Process the results, but don’t make it the last step; evaluationshould be on going. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 7
    • Goal setting works!!!!!!Have you ever sat down on a Sunday evening infront of a pile work and asked yourself "Whathappened to the weekend?" When done properly, goal setting helps you dothose day to day activities that you know youshould do to be successful but dont always getdone.More generally, goal setting helps you to identifywhat you want to accomplish and find a way to doit. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 8
    • Before you begin your goal setting process it isimportant to know what qualities your goals shouldembody. Effective goals have three important qualities. They are realistic, measurable, and reviewed. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 9
    • The Goal should be SPECIFIC enough so that we knowexactly for what we are striving. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 10
    • A goal must be MEASURABLE. It should have concretefacts. You should be able to answer very specifically, when and how you will know you attained your goal. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 11
    • ACTION-ORIENTED, declaring positive activity thatwill produce results. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 12
    • A goal must be REALISTIC. Challenging yourself is animportant part of goal setting. You want to aim high;however, you also need to be realistic. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 13
    • TANGIBLE meaning concrete and not vague. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 14
    • Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 15
    • Finally, a goal must be REVIEWED.Share your goals with friends and family memberswho care about your success. Pick one of thesepersons who will hold you accountable in additionto yourself. In the meantime, remind yourselfregularly of the goals you have set for yourself. You can write your goals in your calendar, on amirror, or a desk-wherever you will see them often.Check your progress regularly.Ask your friend or family member to check on yourprogress. They might even offer you someadditional incentive for accomplishing your goal! Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 16

    • Now that you have made a list of several ways toachieve your goal, recognize which of these strategieswill work best for you. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 20
    • Once you have narrowed down your strategy list, youcan begin to make very detailed and specific plans toaccomplish each strategy and ultimately reach yourgoal.Once we have a well-formed Goal Statement we needsome direction to follow to achieve this Goal. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 21
    • "AN UNWRITTEN WANT IS A WISH, A DREAM, ANEVER HAPPEN. THE DAY YOU PUT YOUR GOAL INWRITING IS THE DAY IT BECOMES A COMMITMENTTHAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. ARE YOU READY?" -TOM HOPKINS Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 22
    • Setting goals is a means of identifying and plotting howyou are going to achieve your aims in life. By writingdown your goals you are committing yourself toaccomplishing them; therefore, make sure that yourgoals are important to YOU!!!!! Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 23
    • Motivation and commitment are what make us strive toachievement. They give us the push, desire, and resolveto complete all of the other steps in the Goal process. This motivation can be obtained by developing apersonal statement that creates a high level of emotionand energy that guarantees achievement. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 24
    • One self help expert said that as a child he waskicked out of his local country club pool because hewas not a member, in response he later made a goalthat he would one day have a pool that is one footbigger than that country clubs pool. Themotivation of being asked to leave the poolprovided the necessary fuel for him to achieve thisgoal. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 25
    • Commitment creates more accountability and iswhat sets us on direct course to reach our goals. Itmay create costly negative consequences uponfailure to attain a goal.Making a commitment might be something likehaving invested your savings in your new businesswhich you will lose if it fails. Motivation andcommitment are specific to your situation and lifeand only you can form statements that will ensureyou reach your goal the quickest. The more personal you make your motivation andcommitment statements for each goal, the moremotivated you will be to accomplish your goal. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 26
    • Be ready to re-adjust your goals and not give up onthem. If they are too easy, they wont be worthwhile, and if they are too tough, and you will start thinkingthat the idea of goal setting is worthless. Remember, small victories lead to big successes. Wali Memon Twitter: walimemon 27
    • The goal was not written down.Rewards for achieving the goals were not given. The goal was unrealistic or not specific enough. The goal is not really believable or little commitment exists.Keep changing or switching goals with the weatherThe person who set the goal has not told anyone else foradded accountability, help and support. The goal was not incorporated into a realistic plan thatincludes measurements, timelines and resources.
