Theses & Dissertations: UTMOST
Theses & Dissertations completed at UT are in the UT Library Catalog , and can be searched by author, subject, and keywords. The college is also added as an author, as well as the advisor for recent items.
Theses & Dissertations are shelved in the southeast corner of the 5 th floor of Carlson Library by year then by name. You cannot browse the shelves by major or subject area.
When searching UTMOST, you can limit the material type to THESIS/DISS .
Theses & Dissertations: OhioLINK
You can use the OhioLINK Catalog to find theses & dissertations at other Ohio universities, again using the Material Type limit.
Items found can typically be requested and sent to UT.
Some OhioLINK institutions contribute electronic copies to the Electronic Thesis & Dissertation Center , which can be browsed by author or school/dept., or searched by keyword. These full-text theses and dissertations are typically available as free PDF files for anyone in the world.
Theses & Dissertations: Worldwide
The ProQuest Dissertations & Theses database allows you to search for publications from other schools in the US and elsewhere.
In addition to keyword searching, you can search by author, subject, school, degree, and advisor.
A free preview is available for most items after 1997, and a free full-text copy of any included UT dissertation or thesis can be e-mailed to you.
Use Interlibrary Loan to obtain items from other schools outside of OhioLINK. Usually the loan will be for one month.
Submit your Thesis or Dissertation
If you submit your work in paper, you will need to submit 2 copies to the Grad School for the library’s archive.
If you submit your work electronically, it will be added to the OhioLINK Electronic Thesis & Dissertation Center for access to anyone via the Internet. Also, you will have to submit only one printed copy for the Library Archives. More information on submitting to the ETD is available here .
