  • 1. REPORT ON WEST AFRICA AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY PROGRAMME (WAAPP) IN COCOA RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF NIGERIA (CRIN) PRESENTED BY E. O. UWAGBOE
  • 2. • CRIN/ARCN adopted villages and schools was a concept initiated by ARCN in 2009 • CRIN adopted Aba-Agbo and Olubi as adopted villages (60 farmers registered) while • prospect High School Abanla, 33 to 45 and • Mamu community comprehensive High School, Mamu, were the adopted schools 35 to 45 students
  • 3. 1. DISSEMINATION OF CRIN TECHNOLOGIES  HYBRID COCOA (TC1-TC8) 0.25Ha  CASHEW JUMBO NUTS 45 stands  Training on good agricultural practices (GAP) 2. Establishment of fish ponds (Collaboration with Aquatic Fishery Institute) 3. Formation of farmers into cooperative
  • 4. WEST AFRICA AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY PROGRAM AND AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA
  • 5. 2013 PROJECT FUND • N2M was released to CRIN • N1.96M was applied for( to construct 4 poultry pens in four locations) • N1.47M was released for 3 pens • Purchase of materials on-going and construction will start very soon
  • 6. CONSTRAINTS 1. Coordinator’s health 2. Untimely release of fund 3. Insufficient fund to stock and manage the poultry and for the establishment of farm and fish pond
