  • 2. What are verbs? Verbs are doing words. They tell your what people, animals or things are doing.
  • 3. Examples of Verbs knock climb swim sing dream
  • 4. The Simple Present Tense Simple present tense tells you that something is always true or that some action is done as a habit.
  • 5. Examples: • The sun rises in the east. • The man knocks on the door. • We sing the national anthem every morning.
  • 6. Fill in each blank with a suitable verb in the simple present tense • He _______ to school everyday. • The monkey _______ up the tree. • John ______ in the pool every evening. • I ______ to be a famous singer like Micheal Jackson. • Mother ______delicious meals.
  • 7. Simple Past Tense • We use the simple past tense to talk about things that happened in the past. • You also use it to talk about things that happened in stories.
  • 8. Examples: • Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. • The wicked witch gave her a poisoned apple. • He swam in the pool yesterday • I dreamt of a monster last night.
