  • Notes Please delete this Introductory Slide before you present History in Progress to your SMT.
  • Chronological understanding: This involves using precise dates to establish sequences of events in an enquiry, using chronological terms and vocabulary (eg century, decade, BC and AD) and knowing the names and key features of periods studied.
  • Late Framework Changes Heinemann has pledged to incorporate any late changes to the Framework into all of its new Key Stage 3 materials. This ensures that teachers and learners are provided with the most up-to-date and relevant information and support.
  • The Teacher's Pack contains everything the teacher needs to run successful lessons. All activities are focused on achieving lasting skills development and the yearly planning grids offer an overview of the different strands and key historical skills in relation to the Programme of Study.

  • The Skills Bank is found at the end of the Pupil Book. It is a 4-6 page refresher of skills covered in the book. They are there to boost skills which are needed for KS4, e.g. analysis of photographs - visual sources provided with call outs showing what to pay attention to/ look for. There are also key questions for practising the skills.
