  • 2. REMEMBER – FORGET– STOPThese verbs can be followedby gerunds or infinitives butwith a change in meaning.
  • 3. REMEMBERRemember with the gerund refers to aprevious action.‐ I remember meeting you last year. (I metyou before now).
  • 4. REMEMBERRemember with the infinitive is used forsomething that happens at or after acertain time.‐ Please remember to close the door. (Inthe future please close the door.)
  • 5. FORGETForget with the gerund is often used withnever for a memorable previous action.‐ Ill never forget going to japan.
  • 6. FORGETForget with the infinitive meanssomething happens at or after a certaintime.‐ Dont forget to meet me at 5.00.
  • 7. STOPStop with the gerund means to end anaction. It means to interrupt an activity inorder to do something else.‐ I stopped eating fast food last year.‐ I cant stop loving you.‐ Stop being so annoying!
